The Doctors here are wonderful. Absolutely caring and thorough with the care they gave my daughter. However, the nurses here need sensitivity training... This is not the first time I've had problems with the lack of empathy the nurses here have shown my child. On several different occasions, different nurses have shown irritation and annoyance towards my child for being upset because she was sick. Going in to get shots, the blonde nurse just stabbed needle after needle into her legs instead of being gentle. The irritation and annoyance was quite visible on the her face and the energy could be felt not just by myself, but by my daughter and mom.
The most recent incident was today where mom brought our baby into the office because she was in a lot of discomfort with perhaps an earache or teething. The pregnant nurse showed absolutely no concern for the well being of the child. She didn't ask mom if the baby was ok, or if she could help in any way... instead just stared impatiently while the baby was visibly upset and in discomfort while trying to get weighed. Mom was so upset with the attitude and lack of concern and help that she left the office without even getting to see the doctor. Being pregnant is no excuse for being so impatient and intolerant.
I hope that this pregnant nurse never has to experience this kind of insensitivity when she has her child. It is irresponsible and unprofessional to be so rude and with so little empathy towards a sick child especially as a nurse, someone who has pledged their work to helping others, especially children. Mom and I are very disappointed with the nurses herethe past 2 visits.
