I visited this restaurant this past weekend with high hopes of great sushi. I have been here twice before and had great experiences...hence the 3rd visit.
We arrived just after 5 P.M and the place was already pretty full. We were led through the restaurant and found menus on the table. The waitress just dropped the menus at the table before we even reached it, leading to confusion around whether this was where we were to sit or not. We had to ask her if this is where she wanted us and from her waitress station, she said yes.
We ordered 3 rolls, miso soup, and seaweed salad. I had a glass of wine and my boyfriend had a Sapporo. Our food came out timely and looked amazing...as usual. We ate at a reasonable tempo and noticed the restaurant filling up rapidly. There were people waiting but also people leaving so they weren't waiting long. Our plates were cleared and we were enjoying the rest of our cocktails when the manager came up to our table quite abruptly. He said hello, I will need you to move to the bar area or leave so that we can turn this table. We were FLOORED! Had he asked if we minded moving, I may not have been upset. Instead, there was no kindness to his approach! I realize there were people waiting but there were also people leaving. We were clearly finishing up only to essentially be asked to leave. I really did enjoy this place. Unfortunately, my continued patronage to this restaurant was not valued and I WON'T ever be back. I was truly disappointed with this experience and will make sure others are aware.
To top it off a fellow diner waiting said to us, "thanks for hurrying". Guess that type of attitude while dining is contagious.
