| - I rarely ever leave the strip when I'm in Vegas. Most of the time, I will eat at the Bacchanal Buffet or Bellagio Buffet because I have a family of picky eaters and we need a large selection of food to accommodate everyone. On my recent visit to Vegas, I was fortunate to accompany some friends to District One for lunch. I live in Orange County and we are surrounded by Asian Fusion food so I had my reservations about District One... However, when we entered the restaurant and met Vi, the Hostess, I immediately knew that I would have an awesome experience. She was passionate about her menu and specialty drinks and she went through the house specials with enthusiasm and confidence.
We found ourselves ordering the Vietnamese Donkey, Mandarin Splash and Vietnamese coffee for drinks. For appetizers and entrees, we had in no particular order, (1) Japanese oysters with house ponzu sauce, (2) jumbo fried shrimp, (3) seasoned squid, (4) fried snapper with papaya salad, (5) oxtail fried rice, (6) garlic noodles with sliced rib eye, (7) coconut ice cream with roasted peanuts on a coconut shell and (8) coconut creme brulee. OMG, we ate all of this for lunch cause the menu was so enticing!!!
The food was absolutely delicious and I look forward to coming back the next time I'm in Vegas. There were so many more items that I want to taste so I will be back soon!
