Not impressed with this location, with the exception of one person there. The service and training of the staff is lacking, not what I expect from Starbucks. I have has several unhappy experiences at this location.
The first bad experience was when I tried to pay using my iPhone and the Starbucks mobile app. After handing my phone over to the young woman who was staffing the drive-thru window, she dropped it on the floor inside. Luckily iPhones are built somewhat tough and aside from a small crack on the back, nothing happened to it. If this wasn't enough, she didn't know how to scan the phone to accept payment. After a few minutes of fumbling around I gave her my credit card for payment. When she had completed the payment and told me how much she had charged, I was surprised that I wasn't given the usual rewards discount. When I asked her why I didn't receive the discount, she ran away. About a minute later the store manager showed up at the window and was equality confused and unable to explain or rectify the situation.
The second bad experience was when the stored ran out of soy milk. It was around 7 AM and the drive-thru was busy. When I placed my order at the microphone, I was told they ran out of soy milk the day before and the order had not yet arrived. For my enjoyment the vehicle in front of me had a larger order and I was stuck in the drive-thru for 10 minutes. When I got to the window there was not a single "sorry" just excuses. It isn't clear how you can run out of soy milk; there are other Starbucks locations in Airdrie, maybe get a few cartons from them to bridge the gap? Or maybe walk across the street and buy a few. In any case, the least I would have expected is a sign at the entrance of the drive-thru letting me know that there is no soy milk.
My morning routine is fragile ;)
