| - We stayed at Excalibur Hotel for 3 nights in February.
There are 2 towers; Tower 1 rooms are older. Tower 2 rooms are the remodeled "contemporary rooms" which cost a little bit more.
We slept in both towers during our stay. (Switched because all our family got rooms on the same floor in Tower 2)
In both towers:
- we booked 2 queen sized beds. Comfy enough!
- shower (no tub) that only had one small soap holder to keep your stuff. Strong water pressure!
- iron, board, hair dryer, key pad safe
- bigggg pillows which I wasn't a fan of
- flat screen TV
- spacious bathrooms
- no complaints with overall cleanliness
Tower 1:
- no body length mirror
- safe located in doorless closet
Tower 2:
- $20 more per night
- body length mirror
- one of those mirrors that zoom in to your pores
- safe located in dresser under TV
- modern interior decor with granite countertop in bathroom'
Had no problems connecting to wi-fi throughout the hotel.
We received a coupon book upon check in which had tons of coupons for both Excalibur and Luxor. There was a $20 coupon towards 3 bars/restaurants at Excalibur. We used ours at the "Lobby Bar" (located in the lobby where you check in) and got 2 drinks + 1 bottle of water!
Some of the restaurants I could remember at the top of my head: Johnny Rockett's and Krispy Kreme by Tower 1. Baja Fresh by Tower 2. Dick's Last Resort by the casino. In the foodcourt: 24 hour market, McDonald's, Pick up Stix, Popeye's, Krispy Kreme, Starbucks, Schlotzky's.
The kids in our group went to the "Fun Dungeon" aka arcade often. There are only a few midway games, but more arcade games that accept quarters.
From Excalibur, you can take a tram to Mandalay Bay. There is also a bridge to New York, New York which has a bridge connecting to MGM. You're also ON the strip so plenty of other restaurants, shops, hotels, etc are walking distance!
We experienced fantastic customer service by Seth at the front desk, another lady at the front desk whose name I can't remember, and a hilarious bartender from Sherwood's bar!
However, we were NOT happy being CONSTANTLY approached by the aggressive greeters who would walk right up to your face and/or keep following you. "Are you staying at the hotel? Are you checking in? Did you receive your value pack (or whatever it's called)? Hey, I have free tickets to these shows!"
Overall, I felt like the hotel met our needs at a reasonable price!
