As Las Vegas locals, this used to be our go-to buffet when we had out of town guests, or were just super hungry and in a chow down mood. Unfortunately going to the Rio buffet is now a disappointment.
There used to be a whole section with an awesome selection of soups and salads. Now the soups and salads are scattered all over the place. Veggies in one section, greens in another. I like starting my meals with a big salad and soup, and don't like having to trek all over the buffet to find all my fixins. There is also less selection of pasta salads, and no ambrosia. I LOVE AMBROSIA!!
Also, as a local, we used to get 2 for 1. Now it's 25% off. I know Caesars is going through some financial challenges but don't take it out on the locals! We're the ones who recommend places to our out of town friends and who take them to your properties.
The food quality is actually pretty decent and the desserts are amazing. But it's not worth the high price.
So for now we'll stick to Green Valley Ranch when we have super hungry people to feed. Hopefully some day Rio will bring back the locals' 2 for 1, or at least bring back the ambrosia.
