  • I chose this place because of all the great Yelp reviews and Traci really did live up to all the praise. I rated it so poorly because the installation was horrible. If you are installing the carpet or tile yourself, then I would recommend, but if you are having it installed; I would hesitate (or ask them if they fired the crew who did "Karen's" installation, because I would not want anyone to have to deal with what I did). I purchased the carpet two months in advance because I was getting ready to move to Phoenix and wanted to have my condo all set before I arrived. I had a trip planned in December, so had plenty to time to schedule the day I needed and the time I wanted (first appointment 8 AM - 9:30 AM arrival). The day arrives; I am up and ready by 7:55 AM.....time keeps ticking....by 9:30 I realize that they are NOT going to show up. Unfortunately the carpet store doesn't open until 10 AM, so I've basically just wasted two hours without even a phone call. Bear in mind, I had confirmed the appointment a couple of days prior and it was all set. Finally get through to the store at 10 - tell them the installers are a "no-show". They call the installers; call me back and tell me they "had a flat tire." Of course the installers had my cell phone number because it's a gated community and they would need to call when they arrived, but they didn't bother to phone me. I ask "when are they coming" (side note - I had a job interview at 11 AM that day because I was moving here looking for a job). The installers finally call me around 10:15 and say they will arrive around 10:30 - when I ask them about the flat tire, they say "what flat tire?" So, someone is lying to me. They arrive - I show them where to park and where my condo is and they literally spent about 10 minutes arguing with me that my condo is too far away from where they have to park? WTH? It was not a secret I was in a condo. I seriously thought they were just going to leave (in hindsight, I wish they had). They finally, begrudgingly, start - I barely make it to my interview. When I return about 90 minutes later, they haven't started because they are asking me what direction to lay the carpet (it was all one color - I didn't even know it had a direction). Then they tell me that Traci measured wrong and they would have to change things around. I found this in very poor taste; you don't insult your Manager in front of a client....I called Traci at this point because I didn't realize I had to make decisions. She said I didn't and called them back. It took them 6 hours to carpet 2 rooms - I don't know if that is normal, but it seemed long to me. When it was finally time for them to leave, they informed me that they couldn't/wouldn't rehang my closest door because it no longer fit? I was somewhat aghast - called Traci and she said it would have to be shaved down to fit - this was the first I was hearing that I would need to have a maintenance man on standby. Traci was great and arranged (at her cost) to have her maintenance guy come out a few days later to shave the door and rehang it. Then the installers notified me that my FRONT DOOR would no longer close. When I asked "what do I do" they literally shrugged and said "not my problem." NOT THEIR PROBLEM that I couldn't shut my front door. With great shoving, I finally got it closed, but then it left dirt marks all over my new carpet from the door bottom. Who leaves someone's house with a front door that won't close? They also left my house a mess. They vacuumed the new carpet, but after they left, I found that they had left all the tape and wrapping from the carpet on my patio so I had to clean it up and they left a lot of debris in my bathroom. Traci deducted $100 from my final bill because she was going to send a carpet cleaner (I had already purchased cleaner and handled the front door myself). I did not receive any additional deductions for my time or the sloppiness / rudeness of the installers. Maybe the installers had an "off" day or maybe they weren't the "usual" team, but this experience was one of the worst I have ever experienced in customer service and home repairs, and I've owned homes for numerous years. As stated earlier, if you are purchasing from them, it is good - just don't get anything installed.
