| - The only Filipino-Asian grocery market in the Henderson area that sells marunggay leaves. I thought I was well stocked, friends and family always bring them up from Hawai'i. But as I dugged deep into my freezer, I was wrong I didn't have any. Boo.
This was the first winter in a while that I got sick and stayed sick for 2-3 weeks. Ugh...it sucked.
I was desperate to feel better. Even though I felt weak and shouldn't be driving, I managed to drive myself here to pick up some marunggay. It's the Filipino miracle drug. It's a leafy vegetable that's great in chicken soups, any kind of meat-veggie broth soup really. Also great as a tea. They sell murunggay tea, but the tea is pricier.
They have a larger selection of produce compared to the Kusina Ni Lorraine Market on Serene and Spencer.
They have a huge selection of Filipino and Asian snacks, nostalgic foods, bakery items, lumpia wrappers, and other products to make Filipino dishes & dessert. So you don't have to drive all the way to Chinatown or Filipinotown. There are other Filipino - Asian Markets in this area, but this one is the largest in Henderson.
Oh and they also carry the large jar of kim chee at a fair price. The one next to WalMart only carries the small jars. They sometimes have a sale on coconut milk, the canned ones that you use for baking desserts.
The cashiers are always kind and helpful. It's never busy when I shop here, so there's always front row parking.
I wouldn't go here for Filipino takeout in Henderson, go to Fiesta Filipina on St. Rose Pkwy or Kusina Ni Lorraine on Serene and Spencer.
Filipino and Asian beauty products, facial cleansers, toners also available.
Located in the shopping plaza on Eastern and Pebble with Colannade Theater, Jun's Korean, & Lemongrass.
