| - They ran a GroupOn and Living Social deal and got absolutely hammered with overwhelmed responses. No kidding, we went there this past Saturday and there was at least 50 people in the wine tasting / tour group, on top of that, there was two or three groups!!!
So it is a family owned business. Land has been in the family (mothers side) for 200 years. The son was giving the tour, good guy. He seemed very happy to have all interest!
The LS deal was wine tasting, tour, souvenir glasses AND a bottle of ---- your choice ----- wine! That totally rocks!
The vineyard is set back just outside the city, here is the weird part, getting there takes you through some shady neighborhoods. The group at our table all had the same comment and it was actually kind of funny, so we all laughed.
The wine itself is okay, my wife loved it as she has a taste for super sweet wine, I am more of a Cab guy. The Cab they had on the taste list was decent, 6 or 7. Pricey though at $15, in the store, I could see this bottle as a $8 or $9 gem.
Anyway, my kids played in the vineyard and ran around like bansheys (sp?), the band was great! The people awesome, I would go back in a heartbeat for a nice romanitic picnic (minus kids....)
