| - NUEVO TIKI! A super-hipster Tiki bar, tucked away in Chinatown, under a hilariously poorly designed pineapple sign. Wait, the sign was one of those signs that's so ugly it's cool. Youngish crowd, but not so youngish that we felt like fogies. Plus, we're not fogies, so we've got that. Snagged a seat at the bar, it was CROWDED on this Saturday. The decor is fantastic. Kitschy, yet modern. Hip, yet welcoming.
The menu is full of standard Tiki drinks with a modern twist, or different ingredients. You can also get all the usual, well-loved Tiki drinks, Singapore Slings and the like.
I had a sort of alternative Pisco Sour, the Tiki Ginger Pisco Sour, and I believe they used bar foam, 'cos it was pleasantly creamy. Or maybe a more high tech ingredient - who cares, really, as the drinks here were really well done.
I chided my companion for his Singapore Sling selection, but it was delicious, and in a fun glass. Loved it, and I think I ordered one next. Mind is a bit hazy on order details.
I LOVED this place and want to go back as soon as possible.
