I used J's Cleaners exclusively for three years without incident. However, in one batch of dry cleaning I had two dresses ruined - chemicals had been spilled all over them in areas where there were no stains, thus rendering them completely useless. There were also two other pieces that some small stains were made worse by the chemicals. I've never had this much trouble with a dry cleaner ever.
At first they acted as though they would make it right, taking the dresses back and trying to repair the damage caused by the chemicals spilled all over them. One was a hopeless case as it had already been "bleached" by chemicals. The other was a silk bridesmaids dress that was covered in stains. They sent the silk dress to their supplier to test and said I would not get it back for a while.
At first, they offered me $350 credit toward future dry cleaning and I refused because I needed the silk dress not that much toward dry cleaning. (On top of that, I will be moving from Vegas in a year or so and don't dry clean that much.) After weeks of back and forth and me going in there every other day, we compromised on $100 store credit and a check for $250 to replace the silk dress I still needed. They instructed me to purchase another dress online, claiming that if I brought in the receipts they would write me a check to cover the cost of the rest. For weeks, I have been given the runaround - we don't have our checkbook, etc. - on being reimbursed for the dress and have never ultimately received the payment.
I would absolutely discourage someone who values their clothing from taking it to J's Cleaners.
