Yum! This place is great, but I wish it wasn't so close to my house as it poses a very serious threat to my health and wallet.
I love finding interesting flavour combos that are bizarre without going too far. And man does this place deliver.
The first time I went in, I was overwhelmed but the owner gave me a reassuring smile and walked ne through the options and told me all about how they make everything, right down to the jams and drizzles, fresh and in house. This dude is clearly passionate about his work!
The flavours are awesome. The creme brulee and lemon meringue ones have a special place in my heart, and I can't leave without a peanut butter and jelly doughnut. Which is fine, because when when there are none in the case, he makes sure someone dresses one up on the spot for me.
These dougnut delights don't come cheap, it's true. But they're huge and fresh and delicious and inventive and a bunch of other positive adjectives. If you want cheap, there's nothing wrong with Timmy How's. But if you want to impress your friends (or just pretend you're sharing and go home to impress your own tastebuds...no judgement), go to Von.
