| - Overall, I'd say I'm disappointed by my experience here. It started off poorly when the men's changeroom smelled overwhelmingly of mildew. Everything appeared clean, but even with air fresheners visible the smell was overpowering. Next disappointment was the hilariously undersized (admittedly very comfortable) robe, the arms of which extended to approximately my elbows, and flip-flops, which I'd guess were around size 6 (I'm an 11). Even after requesting larger flip-flops it was difficult and painful to walk around since the larger ones provided were still far too small. I guess they just don't expect male clientele.
The massage itself was adequate, although punctuated by periods of the RMT jamming an elbow into a pressure point and leaving it there for a few minutes at a time. I had requested a therapeutic Swedish massage and as a result of this, at times it felt more like shiatsu. The heated table is a nice touch, although at one point I was a little chilly and asked for it to be turned up, which resulted in the RMT asking me if I had a cold because I should be warm enough, although she did turn it up eventually.
I wanted to have a quick sauna before I left, but those facilities are on a different floor, and it seemed like the staff were trying to rush me out because they were closing in an hour and wanted me to check out of the spa before I left. I didn't have a spot to store my personal belongings on the other floor, so I opted to not use any of the extra facilities.
The spa definitely had a nice aesthetic and the massage was average, but considering it is the most expensive spa in the city I expected better. Small things like robes and flip-flops that fit should be a given when you are paying the prices they charge. Save yourself some money and have a better experience by going elsewhere.
