  • Just choose a different alterations place. Beware this place severely ripped me off and may do the same to you! A Stitch in Time has done 2 other items for me over 6 years ago but this time, when I took a bridesmaid dress there to be altered, they specifically did my hem, stitched 2 darts, and added fabric to the sides. That's it. And these simple alterations cost me nearly $150.00! I was so shocked, I started to cry...the hem cost $55 alone! After I put it on, my bra still showed on the sides and in the front. I was so upset, I just took the dress and vowed to get it altered elsewhere. (my mother ended up helping me out). I've never heard of or experienced such pricing. Guess in this economy anyone is willing to jack up their prices to make a buck off of a needy bridesmaid. The thing is, I mostly wish I had known how much it would be ahead of time, but there was no forewarning, nothing. If I had known, I could have chosen to go elsewhere to get my alterations done. Now I'm just trying to help those who are out there so that they won't be suckered into going there.
