| - Seriously one of the lamest clubs/bars/nightlife places I have ever been, totally killed my Friday night. Background on me: been clubbing many times and willing to pay up if it's a good party. That being said, I also enjoy the occasional indie show.
Now onto the review..where do I begin..
1) Cover was $10, after waiting in line in -20deg weather for 15 minutes in a huge line that didn't seem to be moving, only to find out that they keep you out there to make it seem like the place is super popular to people walking by, which was basically no one because of the area.
2) Music: I got in just as the live band was wrapping up so apparently I was paying $10 to hear someone who interns at the edge hook up their iPod shuffle to the horrible sound system which destroyed my ears.
3) Coat check was only $2 but the girl was SO SLOW and even though we were willing to pay for each coat she refused to put them on the same hanger to save time. I suspect this was why the line was so long to get in.
4) Bar was way overpriced and since it took me so damn long to get their attention I was able to watch how hard they were ripping everyone off (spread 2 "shots" in 3 drinks). Oh, and drinks were hella expensive, $6 for simple bar rail. And there were only 3 bartenders working at the bar because the others were busy being cocktail waitresses for the "vip" section.
5) Crowd was very bizarre and obnoxious. Girls were all trying way too hard to get some and guys were all very old and creepy. Andd ohh the dancers..wow that was disappointing. One of them was hot, but she didn't know how to dance, and the other clearly did, but was not hot in any way. Navigation was also impossible as they packed the place to the seams and the bathrooms were tucked way in the back.
6) Finally, the whole tattoo shop thing is very hyped. In my opinion it's a really stupid idea, why would you decide to get a tattoo while in the actual bar? Lots of shops are open late anyway in the area and it didn't even seem like anyone was allowed in there anyway. And I've heard from word of mouth that you have to take a breathalyser and blow 0 to get one.
I don't think I can think of much else. It's not even the type of place that could have been made better by copious amounts of alcohol. Just don't go here.
