  • My friend was visiting here from California and we wanted to make curry for dinner. Looking at the outside of the store, I really didn't expect much out of it. Inside was a lot roomier than what the outside made it to be. Although they have a lot of selection on items and the store looked big, the maneuverability inside was kinda limited (aisles were so small that people were constantly running into each other or waiting for each other to move). Everything just felt so squished together, I actually felt borderline claustrophobic. Thankfully, they have a lot of those hard-to-find Asian products needed for cooking homemade Asian cuisine. However, examining the products they were selling I noticed a lot of things on their shelves were dusty, which made me think I had to double check expiration dates. In their seafood section, some of their packaged fish looked dried out or they were left out for too long. I'm pretty sure a few crabs were dead in their tanks. Their meats had some dark spots on it, which made me think that it's not fresh. The produce wasn't good, either. I found a lot of produce that was either bruised, wrinkled, or rotten. After searching through a sea of bad produce, I managed to get the very few that were in good condition to buy. I don't think I've ever had to work this hard to find decent-looking fruits and veggies. Also, they told me and my friend we were not "allowed to take any photos." I think they don't want people knowing about the poor quality of their products. To add to all this, customer service was severely lacking. No one had a smile on their face, they didn't respond when trying to hold a conversation with them, and I felt that they just wanted us out of their sight. Horrible experience at this market. At least I found what I needed...
