  • We drove from Tucson for a concert at Comerica Theater recently. Being from Tucson, we had no idea what to expect, but we were pleased by the simplicity of the venue. They organized everything perfectly, which is appreciated when you're coming from out of town. They directed traffic, and clearly had the focus on the pre-pay lot that they seem to want people to park at. I paid in advance on ticketmaster, so I saved $5 there. Cool. Once out of the car, the line was forming clearly at the predictable place. The only complaint here is the amount of beggars that hit you up while you're waiting in line. Luckily, they didn't make us wait too long before they opened the doors. The security process was quick and simple, they just glanced in bags. They scanned our tickets and let us in. No fuss at all and it made the line go really quickly. The theater lobby isn't huge, but that worked for me. I was able to quickly glance and find everything I needed. I do think that the main place to purchase merchandise being up some steep steps with a free-for-all of lunatics pushing around is a little odd (and dangerous, someone shoved me and almost knocked me off a step). But, I survived. The rest of the lobby was clean and there were plenty of employees around to help if you had questions. The concession lines were plentiful and they moved the lines quickly. The bathrooms were large enough and clean, which is a major plus. The theater itself isn't huge, but that's a good thing because it seemed like most of the seats were decent. I was on the floor, center stage, about 25 rows back. I was not disappointed at all, except for when the guy in front of me decided to put his phone way above his head to take a two minute+ recording (which isn't allowed, but who follows that rule, amirite?!). Anyway, the seats are ok comfortable, a little squeezed, but this was a concert that everyone stood the entire time. The packed seats did make the standing situation a little squeezed, too, because of the quantity of people (and this show was a sold out or close to it show), especially if the chick next to you has a beer in each hand. At least she had good balance, because none spilled on me! But seriously, our seats were good! The sound was pretty good. No complaints there. And that was the most important part of the night! It was loud, but still crisp. We left a song or two early to avoid the mad rush out, so I can't speak about how security handled that. Overall, this is a very good theater and I would definitely come back for future shows! We had a lot of fun and I'm happy my favorite artist chose this venue!
