| - As a tenant in Maple Leafs Square, it goes without saying this is the best place you'd have to get your groceries. Lovely, helpful staffs, wonderful selection of all sorts of groceries. If you buy something that happens to be rotten or spoilt, bring it back! They'd exchange it for you without much hassle. My girlfriend and I once bought a rotten coconut and brought it back. Exchanged it not once, but twice and they were all rotten. We went back and they got a guy to open a few more of those coconuts and found out the batch was bad. The staff gave us our money back and honestly, I feel guilty for being calculative but hey, I didn't get what I want. This is the customer service perhaps other supermarkets like loblaws or metro should learn from longos. It goes a long way.
And for those of you who think Longos has higher markup on their prices, check again before you speak. Generally, I find prices of certain merchandises in longos are significantly (not marginally) CHEAPER than Loblaws or Metro, sometimes even on par or cheaper than Walmart. The comparison is done before any sales is added. You will need to shop smart and know what to buy and not what to buy from each grocery store, I suppose.
