I enjoyed a comp breakfast turned lunch at the Bayside buffet. Thanks to myVegas rewards I got a lunch buffet...FREE. That's the only way I will eat a Vegas buffet. And it's been that way since back in the 70s when a breakfast buffet was $1.99 and a lunch was $2.99. The casino pit bosses handed out free buffet coupons like the strip "card flippers" do today. I got a breakfast buffet at a 18.99 value since I got there at 10:30 am. Lunch started at 11:00.
Being 30 minutes I got to taste the breakfast fare. It's about the same as the Excalibur and Luxor I had earlier in the week. Plenty of breakfast items plus pizza and most Mexican items are out for the whole day. The Mexican Chilequillas a Mexican enchilada casserole was exceptional. At 11:00 am most of the breakfast dishes were replaced with lunch items. Fried chicken Italian sausage and peppers swedish meat balls and stuffed shells were all pretty good. The carving station made the buffet worth it. The bbq beef ribs were excellent. The deserts at the Bayside were about the same as the Luxor and Excalibur. I cant imagine the dinner buffet gets any better so unless it's an Mlife or myVegas rewards comp get the $18.99 breakfast and show up at 10:30 and roll into lunch at 11:00 and save 5 bucks.
