Given that I am an avid seafood lover and hail from a small town down the coast that glorifies cod - I had high hopes for this place (emphasis on had). We were greeted upon walking in by a dazed and confused waitress who led us to some seats available at the end of the bar. She didn't bother explaining anything on the menu and it took about a good 30 minutes and 2 failed attempts at making eye contact to get her to take our order....
We shared the Norwegian meatballs dish which was good but not anything extraordinary, the gravlax which had a nice presentation but nothing that worked my taste buds to the point of loving it, and finally the salted cod poutine....sigh...Being a salted cod connoisseur I have to admit that this was by far the most disgusting Ive ever had and it ruined the poutine for me. If it were solely the fries and aged cheddar the poutine would have been pretty good; however, we both left it mostly untouched. Best part of the experience was the tea and the glass of carlsberg. The service was atrocious and had by far the most inexperienced waitress - who was thankfully replaced by some other gal, the decor is cute and somewhat cozy, and the food a letdown. I thought I found a new hangout but suffice to say that I will not be back. Perhaps it is the sort of hangout for a coffee and some dessert...
