rev:text	Meat & Potatoes was an obvious choice on the 'Pittsburgh to visit' list as all of the Yelp reviews rave about it. We got there at about 5:30 PM not realizing really how small this place is. Spoiler alert: this place is fricking tiny. Don't let the mirrors fool you into thinking there's a back dining area. It's just a reflection. They couldn't accommodate us at a table, so we headed to the bar. The bar was packed, but I was able to snag one seat next to some guys in suits. Come to find out, the older dude was a complete ass and I overheard him saying some really mean things to the busboy (he was however nice to the female bartender....) If you're out there and reading this, I have 0 respect for people like you. Learn some common courtesy. Okay, moving on.. I ordered the drink special which was some kind of pear concoction. It had a bunch of different herbs and spices that made it sound bizarre, but it tasted phenomenal. We also went for the fried pickles. They were really good but extremely hot. I had to cut them up in little pieces just to be able to release the steam. The service was great and what you would expect at a restaurant of this caliber. There was a female and male bartender and they were both on point with making sure everyone had a drink or food. We had originally planned on eating dinner here but decided since we only had 2 days in 'Burgh that we were ready to try another place on our list, so we headed out after a couple of drinks and appetizer. If I came here for dinner and ate a full meal, I would probably give 5 stars too. Their menu looked divine and I hope to make it back soon to give it a real go.
