I came in on my lunch break to make an exchange, I have a credit card with Ulta as well as the beauty rewards account I've been shopping here for years and spend a lot of money. I didn't have my receipt for my purchase so when I went to the counter, the cashier tried looking up my purchase and couldn't find it. She said that if it has been more than 90 days that I would have to contact customer service so that they could look up my purchase and email me a copy of my receipt to proceed with the exchange. I spent over 20 minutes on the phone and finally the representative found my receipt and emailed it to me. I go back to the counter to complete my exchange and the manager comes up and says it can't be done. I explained to her the situation and she still refused to help me and she was talking to me in a high projection voice. So I left the store called customer service back and they advised that each store has the ability to alter the return policy, so instead of the manager helping me out she refused to help me in order to protect her return rate. All I needed was an even exchange I wasn't looking to fraud them and the product I was returning wasn't even used. I will not come to this store again as I went to another Ulta and they willingly helped me after I explained my situation with no problem.
