Man, I can't believe Justin beat me to CPT's first review!
CPT is part of the W.65th community. In fact, it's part of their foundation! This theater has done so much to bring the arts to the area as well as allow for a venue for aspiring playwrights and actors to share their craft.
The main theater is set up "black box" style and they've done everything from live music to plays and festivals. Over the years, they've expanded from just the main theater to a lower level space as well as the neighboring theater which had its heyday back in the 20s or 30s. When they expanded and opened it up, it coincided with the 40 year anniversary of Hiroshima and I was part of the performance in its honor. It was an amazing show. I also used to do volunteer ushering (free shows!) and fund raising. CPT is a great part of this community. In fact, it rocks!
