  • Found in Terminal 1, the Centurion Lounge is a comfortable, classy, getaway from the hubbub and fast pace right beyond the exclusive automatic doors. As we were in Terminal 3, my fiancĂ© & I had to take the tram to get there but it was no problem. We arrived at the airport two hours early just to enjoy the lounge since his AmEx card gives him and two guests complimentary access. After locating the lounge, we walked in and immediately noticed it was much quieter than outside, with recessed lighting, dark paneled wood, and a professional concierge in a suit behind the counter. After verifying his credentials we walked right in through a long wall of partitioned couches situated for privacy, through businessmen talking on phones working with laptops about meeting deadlines, past tired-looking women taking a load off, and thoughtful travelers reading books. There were no children as far as I saw, but I did see a play room that had a clear glass wall that may have been soundproof? I hope I never find out. The bar and buffet is situated further into the lounge on the left. After unloading our things, we went straight to it. I noticed that there were fountains of filtered infused water and filtered infused teas, with sugar, creamer and sweeteners because there was also a cool coffee machine that can make the standard cappuccinos and lattes as well as mochas and hot chocolate. Sometimes this machine is down, but there is also an area with a carafe of regular hot coffee and hot tea selection. The buffet is a small lineup of many veggies, two salad options with two kinds of dressing, and the meat we had was a honey fried chicken of some sort that was delicious. I had the apple panna cotta for dessert and had to go back for a second, along with a chocolate chip cookie. Fruits are also available, as is the full bar with nice bartender, which we did not partake of as alcohol and flying don't mix for me. After we loaded up our plates, we sat down to eat and went through our meals slowly. After we were done a server cleared our tables, and we waited for our flight enjoying the wifi and taking advantage of the nearby outlets to charge our electronics. Beyond the partitioned couches where we sat I also noted a room with a conference table, where a few people were meeting, but the best thing about the lounge besides the bar and buffet was, predictably, the bathroom. The stalls are huge, ensuring complete privacy, with a hand soap and lotion by L'Occitane and thick fluffy disposable hand towels. My hands felt so pampered. After a trip here, no lounge compares. I want to get an AmEx card just for the privilege.
