| - AVOID THIS PLACE! The staff are like high schoolers who crave drama. Me and my family (my husband and small child) stayed there during renovations, i was 7 months pregnant and let me tell you my story.
Ok first off they had no manager when i first checked in (i stayed almost two months), theres drunk construction guys in the parking lot getting drunk at night and if you go to your car alone its very uncomfortable. Half the time the breakfast items are out, and after three weeks there we still hadnt been serviced by the maid so (i had been changing my own linens etc by exchanging with the office) i asked if i could have the maid come clean the room, this was on a tuesday they told me that she couldnt until friday, so i say ok. Friday comes and the maid never comes, i call the office and am told that the maid had too many check outs and cant clean the room on this day, So i use the vacuum and cleaning supplies and clean the room myself.
A week and a half later a lady calls me from the office and tells me that the maid reported that my room had extensive damage, i was shocked,i said ,what maid?,we have yet to see a maid, she says well its documented and we need to see your room, i tell her no problem come on up anytime she says i will when i get a chance. So later that night she comes up and looks around the room, sees no damage and says ok,well i dont see any damage i dont know what that maid is talking about, she must be crazy.
Another week and a half goes by and i work 8-5 mon through friday so im getting ready to leave for work and my personal vehicle is in the parking lot at the hotel, i get ready to leave for work and i see that they are redoing the black top in the parking lot so the guy tells me where to move my vehicle, so i move my car, lock my car up and go about my day.
About a week later the same heavy set lady from the office says well i should tell your job (i work in the legal field) that your a drug dealer, at this point im extremely shocked and i said what??, she said yeah our contractor said when he towed your car he found drugs in it, i said first of all my car was NEVER towed, secondly what are you talking about?? she then says that the contractor popped my trunk (dont know how or why that could have happened) and found drugs in my car i was so shocked i didnt know what to say or do, i called the police and they said there was no record of such an incident occuring, so i confronted the lady jn the office and she said that "as a favor to you we didnt call the police", i immedietely go look in my car and i find a spare tire and armor all, there was nothing even remotely close to resembling drugs.
The next day i called their corporate office and filed a formal complaint and eventually was contacted by a guy who apologized but didnt seem like he cared much, they all blamed the contractor from Sunland Asphalt, so i also filed a formal complaint there as well, they adamately denied that their contractor 1. broke into my car and 2. made ANY allegation of that sort.
So the next week they get a new manager and our account with them is a corporate account since the company put me there, the new manager calls me and tells me there was a billing error and id need to move asap, or pay $310 right then, i found this odd since 1. all billing goes through our company and 2. tyeres a credit card on file.
My small child was there with the babysitter, and i was in downtown phoenix working, so i drop everything i'm doing and drive there as quick as i can.
I get there and find out that its a $27.00 fee for something that was overlooked the week prior, so anyway, i pay it and get to my room and get a call from the office and the new manager says we have had alot of issues with you, i said wow, (this was after they apologized after my complaint) and your room is no longer available we have it reserved for someone already.
They then called my work and told them i had guys coming and going all night, so i ask the manager about that and the manager says no thats not what we said, i said then what did you say, she said im not going to discuss that.
I went to hyatt place and never had any issue like that again.
Hyatt place hotel, similar price, WAY better service.
