This is a cosy little spot on a nondescript stretch of Spadina. Food and service are both generally solid, and the coffee is pretty good. I definitely want to try the hot chocolate, which sounds amazing. My only gripe is that, without asking, they always give you your coffee and pastries in paper cups and bags. I looked around recently and everyone sitting in the place had a paper takeout cup. Why do they do this? For one thing it's extremely wasteful/environmentally unfriendly, and for another, when I'm paying over seven bucks for a small coffee and a pastry, I'd like an actual china cup and a plate.... too much to ask?
