My first thought was, "this is gonna be hotel food," but this is definitely one of those books you can't judge by the cover!
Two particular highlights:
1) this steak ranks in the top two, if not the top spot on our search for the Valley's best, for it's simple, beefy flavor, perfect temperature and soft, melty texture.
2) the use of beet in the beet salad is brilliant! They are creatively disguised as ravioli casing; tucked inside: a sweet, salty mixture of locally-sourced goat cheese, candied fruit and nuts.
The missing star is for the venue: The environment is disloyal to the kitchen. Tucked away on the property with no view to warrant its placement, dim lighting with no further romance... Marriott has a gem here that deserves the polish to shine!
