  • When you live in Las Vegas, you will meet a lot of bad contractors BUT when you find one that are experts at their trade, don't let them go! I was referred to Now Plumbing by a very successful real estate friend of mine. She told me that Now Plumbing was honest, reliable and very good at what they do. I used Now Plumbing twice last year for some shower fixtures and a pipe that was rattling in the walls. Mike (the owner) came out first and assessed the problem. Mike was patient and told us exactly what the problem was and what he would charge us to fix the issue. He was fair and very competent. On September 13th, 2015 my husband and I noticed that we had hot tiles in our entry way by the front door, we had a water bill that was $50 higher than normal and we also noticed we had gone through 4 bags of salt in our water softener in 10 days. My friend whose an engineer told us to call out a plumber immediately because we most likely had a hot water leak under the foundation of our home. I immediately called our home warranty company (HSA) to send someone out and then called my Homeowner's Insurance Company (Farmer's). Neither company covered anything because this leak was under the foundation of our home. Both companies had clauses that exclude "slab leaks". I was devastated and in tears most of the day. I remembered Mike at Now Plumbing and called him on his cell phone (hint...if the owner of a contracting company won't give you their cell phone #, there's probably a reason why). Mike immediately picked up and I told him about our BIG problem. He was so sympathetic on the phone and immediately moved aside a couple of appointments to come out to our house within 3 hours. He came out, assessed the problem and said he would send out his lead guy (Billy) the next morning at 7:30am. Billy showed up right on time and came with two other guys. They worked for 13 hours to re-route the line that was leaking. They weren't going to leave until we had hot water again! It was a hard job but they did it flawlessly. Mike had included drywall repair, texture and paint in his proposal so the day after the plumbing work was completed Hernan (the drywall guy) came out and made our home look beautiful again! You can't even tell that they cut holes in seven different spots to re-route the hot water line! Amazing! I will use Now Plumbing for everything! I'm dropping my home warranty this December as well as shopping my insurance with a broker versus an insurance agent that only sells for one company. I want a policy that covers a slab leak in case this ever happens again. By the way, the plumber that HSA sent out said he could do the job by himself, there was NO WAY one person could have fixed this massive problem in one day and I'm certain the guy HSA would have used would have taken longer, been more expensive and would have probably put some major holes in my home WITHOUT repairing them.
