  • This office may/may not be operating as an off-shoot of a "parent" company; however, I can only speak of my experience with the Tempe office. I have definitely learned to do my research. On the phone RG was extremely polite and pleasant; however, walking into the office for my appointment I found they don't believe in having a receptionist so you're basically just looking for a live body to acknowledge you. All the sudden this shrill voice is yelling rudely "Can I help you?" but she may as well have said "What do you want?" from her tone. I advised I had an appointment, the time and with who so when she said, what I was dreading, that it was she who the appointment was with and "Go have a seat" I had that sinking feeling that this wasn't going to be pleasant. Long story short my fiance and I spent the next hour basically being told that we were wasting her time. It soon became obvious this woman feels that she should only have to work with someone who has no debt and has worked the same job for 20 years. I'm not perfect but I am no means a deadbeat and I know that everyone has to buy their first house sometime and I didn't walk in empty-handed. Finally after at least the third time she contradicted herself with information she was giving me while telling me there was no way I would qualify anytime soon on a home loan I had taken enough of her attitude, pointed out that she had been contradicting herself and that I was tired of her making me feel like I had to apologize even though I have nothing to apologize for and I walked out. From information I now have this "broker" thinks that it is appropriate to profile prospective clients and provide false information if someone doesn't fit her idea of the "perfect" client. From the way I was treated I know this wasn't a first for RG so I decided to do some research and found alot of complaints for this company. Now I am extremely grateful that I didn't leave any personal information and that it was made very clear that Guild Mortgage will never see me in their office again. I would hope she's the only bad apple; however, there are complaints all over various websites and the BBB. Hopefully anyone who thinks about using this company avoids this person and stays on their toes with anyone else within the company.
