| - Went here for one of my best friend's birthdays. We had a large group so you know things are usually altered when you're traveling in a pack of 12. We were seated in a cool area that had part of the booth extend out into a bay type window area. It was a really cool effect and would be really nice if it was rainy but as it was, it was a nice touch. We order our drinks, that didn't take too long. My boyfriend attempted to order a Heineken, then a Fosters, then a Corona, but they didn't have any of those options... He finally settled on a Stella which he was happy with, but I thought it odd that they didn't have any of those other options.
We moved on to the menu, which if you're a vegetarian, go else where. I was a vegetarian for a time and I really didn't see a lot of options outside of the salads. Not only that but it seemed like meat was infused into everything. I swear, not joking, pork was in every other item on the menu. If you like pork, that's great, but if you don't eat it, or can't eat it you were kinda $hit outta luck. Even dishes like fish had some kinda of pork in it... kinda weird. Oh yeah, and PIG DIP, is not an attractive name... I finally settled on the pot roast and got an appetizer of the goat cheese.
Meanwhile our drinks took literally around 20 minutes to get. This might be ok, except they weren't that busy... I got a standard margarita which was average at best.
We eventually got our goat cheese app but my friend had to re-request the bread that he had ordered for everyone. The goat cheese was really great, I'm not sure I've had melted goat cheese before but it was definitely a good choice and probably the best part of the meal and evening.
Eventually our food did come, it definitely took a while. The waitress left plenty of empy water and drink classes sit for a long time. I'm not sure if it was because we were tucked away in the corner or what... oh that and no matter what she's gonna get 18% gratuity. It took a while, and we actually had to try and flag her down so we could order another round of drinks and get some more water... But anyways back to the food. My pot roast was good, but definitely not amazing. i think I'll probably stick to eating my mothers for how much it cost. But to be fair I feel like most other people were happy with their food, and its not that I wasn't, but this place is pretty expensive and the service had been crap at that point.
We got our checks and attempted to pay, but they gave us our bills without gratuity, so after we gave our money, she they returned to give it back so we could pay gratuity that she had forgot to add on (they were very good about splitting up the check though, which is always appreciated). After gratuity it was a hefty bill for two people. We then re put our money in and 15 minutes were ready to leave. She never came back with our change (and I wasn't leaving her a 30 dollar tip for that service) so I went back in to find out what happened and she had actually never even taken our bill again. So when she finally came back to get it, what should have been 11 dollars and change, she just handed me two 5 dollar bills..... I don't even know what to say about that.
All in all, the food was fine, it wasn't great it wasn't horrible. The ambiance was nice, visually I enjoyed the venue, but service wise I was super freaking disappointed. I'm not crazy about having amazing service, but that was just horrible and if you're not busy, there's no excuse. ESPECIALLY when a group of 12 people is then paying gratuity. LAME and I don't know that I'll go back.
