| - When I travel, I hostel it usually because I'm young, solo, and like to have more money for shopping and eating. I also don't need a lot if I am traveling for leisure, basically the three S's: sleep, shower, storage. For that, it fit the bill. Two minute walk to the Deuce, so definitely convenient. Ten minutes to the Stratosphere, also nice. If you're like me and have no passport you have to pay by card, it's only an extra $1 for each $50 so nothing too extreme. You don't need cash for your key deposit, but you get it back as cash in the end.
This is a definite party hostel, they have events going but I never went because I'm not a partier and I like doing my own thing. Plus I am an early riser-out before 8 usually. I definitely was the anomaly. They give you a sheet with a map of the Strip and various attractions at each hotel, a resource I will hang on to for future trips.
The one thing that I didn't like as much were the people. My roomies were nice, generally speaking, but many people seemed a little standoffish. Also the rooms are small and the space between bunks is as well-it was hard getting my suitcase through.
Bring your own towel, because you have to rent one here. Seems a little odd.
