This post i'm titling it "DIRRRRRTY Plates"
Had a private party held here yesterday in fact . While the venue is gorgeous, open concept - a lot could be done for the execution. I'll explain here. We had hors d'oeuvre at this event, the mini plates being served to each guest were DIRTY. and i mean filthy - dried up food right on the plate. We called the service manager. (a petite women)We did not like how she handled the situation. She demanded to know where the plates were and to walk her through to each pile of plates. I should mention that I attended the event as a guest. I did not arrange the event. (and I didn't want to embarrass the host). The service manager could've been more classy and said "I'll take care of it." but she didn't and wanted me to walk her around to where all the dirty plates were located. They were in fact ALL dirty which we knew. Guests were going through each pile trying to select the cleanest plate. Exhaused, I retreated but honestly this is no Park Hyatt or the Fairmont. The second stack of plates (on appearance) looked clean, but in the dim candlelight, you can see and definitely feel that they were greasy. This time, she questioned another guest. with an unkind face. The service manager was completely unsympathetic. The guest then had to convince her that it really was dirty - she proceeded to pick up the plate and to ask her to feel it. The service managers face scrunched up as she realized her fingers were slimed in pork grease or whatever fat that was. At this point she still hesitated to do something. Honestly, it is obviously that these plates needed to be replaced. It makes me wonder what other shortcuts they're taking. I'm completely embarassed for her. She should not be working in the service industry. Her lack of professionalism is incredible.
