| - Do not rent from this company. I rented here for two years, and left before my lease was out. I went to their office to ask what I would need to do to move out early since I was buying a house. I was told there were no two bedrooms available and they would rent my unit immediately, so moving out would not be a problem, I would just need to pay a $1200 fee to break my lease. I was told the carpet was already old when I moved in, so there would be no fee to replace it.
I got the single largest bill I have ever received from any apartment complex from these people. They refuse to rent out the apartment, and have billed me well over $3400 for move-out costs. I disputed this, and got a letter from their attorney with the wrong apartment number on it and mostly incorrect information, and my attempts to deal with their attorney have resulted in them sending me unbidden without verifying the debt to sure deposit and collections. It has not even been 35 days, and they are doing all of this.
I have hired a lawyer to deal with them, and I am going to sue. If you would prefer not to have to deal with lawyers and liars I would not move in here under any circumstances.
If anyone would like to join me in my lawsuit, please let me know. It looks like this complex is overdue for a class action from other reviews I have read. This is the worst complex I have lived in in Phoenix, by far.
I am also reporting them to the insurance commission for violating insurance laws by sending out a recent letter stating they were going to charge tenants who had no insurance a $15 charge for renters insurance. That charge was for their own umbrella policy, and does not cover the tenant apparently. I have asked in writing for a copy of this policy that I was illegally billed for from their attorney, and verbally from the issuing insurance company as well. Both have refused to provide a copy of the policy. I recommend that if you had the same experience you do the same.
This is a very dishonest company, they lied about how the Surety bond works, how the billing would work, charged illegally for renter's insurance they failed to provide (when I already had renter's insurance and was called by their office telling me it was on file and not to worry about it).
GET EVERY SINGLE THING THEY SAY IN WRITING!!!
Oh, and my unit was right under a power line, and they refused to show it to me before I rented it on the premise that it was already occupied and I would have to wait to see it until my move in day. Shady, shady company. Nice to your face, but horrible to you if you are not directly in front of them.
