| - So, I had a membership with You Fit and I wasn't using it. My membership did get behind because I got a new debit card. They called to let me (automated call) know my payments were behind...no biggie. I called the gym direct and mentioned I wanted to cancel anyhow and I was told I needed to come to the gym to handle. Again, no problem.
I go down, pay the balance and sign the form to cancel. Literally, 6 months later I get a call from a gal who I shall not name saying "Hi!! Your account is in collections for $69 but if you sign up today, we can give you a rate of $40! So, yeah call me" Mind you she didn't leave a call back number.
I proceed to call young gal and tell her I came and paid my balance and cancel my membership to which she replied it was never canceled and I was now in collections.
When I ask well why didn't you call me if I had an outstanding balance if that was the case, her answer was "well you haven't been in the gym for us to tell you"
Seriously? You can call me to get more money but you can't call me to tell me I may have owed you money? She said "well you got letters from us"
I didn't get any letters because I was in there 6 months ago and paid my balance.
So then I say, ok have your manager call me. Her reply "I can't guarantee the manager will call you" When I asked her why not, I got "He's busy, but you can call back"
Wow...Wow...Wow! To say the least I am trying to get in touch with their corporate office, so we'll see what happens.
