| - I've been going to Wendy's Nails for over a decade now. As a matter of fact, when my son was 4 he would freak out every time I would try to clip his toenails so I took him to Wendy's, hoping someone else clipping them would work. It did, and he loved his "baby pedi" so much, I've been taking him there ever since. He's almost 17 now, and when we walk in, we're treated like family.
Over and above that, I've been in the beauty industry since 1986 so I can appreciate all the little things they do. First off, their sanitation practices are way above par when compared to most nail salons. They have a high grade sanitizer/autoclave in plain view. Their towels are sanitized and laundered. Their stations are always immaculate. They even have a professional cleaner come in to clean their dried floral arrangements.
They are always very friendly, communicative, and on every visit, ask me about my life, my family, etc.
I've never once had a bad experience, except the last time.
On my last visit I was sitting next to a woman who was grumpy. And I don't mean grumpy in a "she had a bad day" thing... I mean grumpy in a "She hates herself and wants everyone to suffer" way! It was everything I could do to keep myself from turning around and confronting her. I mean, I really enjoy my pedicures!!! Sometimes a gal wants her feet rubbed without something sexual in return! That being said, this gal was messing with my "me time" big time! I don't know why people feel like they need to be bossy and controlling towards people in the service industry. This gal was "that customer" who wants to tell you how to do your job in the nastiest way. She even complained that they used newspaper to catch the layers and layers and layers of dead skin off her feet when they scraped her calloused hooves off... Did you want that going on the floor???!!! I watched the whole thing in horror...Gross! I'm sure they use newspaper so they can easily throw that shit out like yesterday's news!!!
NUTSHELL, she cray. As a matter of fact, when she left, I asked the girl who had to work on her if she was okay. Of course, she shrugged it off. I'm sure she's dealt with worse people, but I was greatly disrupted by hoof girl.
All of that to say this: I love this place. It has been part of my self-care routine for a very long time, but the next time there is a dirty diva in there, don't blame me if I lose my shit! Pedi time is MY escape!
