  • I've been going to Idolize at University since I moved to Charlotte but this was my first time at the SouthPark location. I decided to start coming here because Barbie, their resident aesthetician, did a stint at the University location after their other aesthetician left. I had an appointment with her during that time and she did such a good job that I committed to start seeing her regularly when I returned from working abroad. Fast forward six months and here I am. I love the proximity of this location to the exit. Confession: I REALLY HATE MALLS. So this is a huge plus for me. You don't have to walk the whole mall to get there making it easy to get in and out. Just enter through the Nordstrom downstairs shoe department entrance and go into the mall and it is there to the left. This location has no direct natural light but makes up for it with awesome interior lighting and high ceilings. It is spotless and sports a decor I would describe as minimalist glam which I love. All the staff are very friendly and happy to help from first encounter. As usual, Barbie rocked my Brazilian and underarm waxing. She is always kind and detail oriented with good conversation to boot. She oozes good vibes. The room was clean and neat as always and at a the perfect temperature. The table is plush and heated which definitely ups the comfort factor. What I love about Idolize and expect from all waxing establishments is their use of quality products throughout the process (they use both soft and hard waxes and quality oils and powders). They also adhere to quality standards (no double dipping here). These are musts for me but unfortunately not applicable to all establishments offering waxing services. After finishing with Barbie, I had my eyebrows and upper lip threaded by the young lady in the first chair to the left, whose name I didn't catch. She did a fabulous job cleaning and shaping my brows and fully cleaning up the peach fuzz on my top lip. They are running a special in January that discounts all waxing services by 20% which was a sweet unexpected cherry on top of an already great experience. Even though I have to drive much further, I will certainly be frequenting this location and turning it in to a monthly south side errand run. The traffic may be a beast but it is certainly worth it.
