  • First time I've actually stayed here, have been to Vegas many times before though. We (me and the wife) came here for my birthday and after much research and (internal) debate I decided on this. If you want to do Vegas on the cheap this aint it. If you want to be romantic and pampered and price isn't a problem or at least much of a problem then here is where you want to be. I looked around all or at least most of the places to stay and compared amenities and prices adinfinitum and it was between here and the Wynn/encore which coincidentally is right next door. It is situated center strip and since we flew (ie: no vehicle) that was important, if you have your own vehicle then it may not be as bad but still driving in Vegas or at least by the strip is a pain. Anyway I also had us doing 3 straight shows 2 of which were at the mirage (across the street) literally within spitting distance (with a good strong wind behind you). I have stayed a lot of places here in Vegas (Treasure Island, circus circus, Desert inn(RIP), Luxor) with varying degrees of success. This is positively the best, the view was superb, the room huge and well appointed, the staff magnificent for our whole stay. We had one minor problem and that was the in room safe malfunctioned but it was corrected in minutes. If you like good food then restaurant row situated between the palazzo and venetian is lined with world class restaurants from world class chefs, the venetian and palazzo are connected so if you want you never have to go outside. The shows in the hotel when we were there weren't all that good so we went to shows at other hotels but no big deal, the tables and slots were pretty good better than some which had way to high minimums for us casual gamblers and the atmosphere was excellent. They do have an airport shuttle (I didn't know and paid for the super shuttle) which is free to certain levels of their loyalty program, or relatively cheap otherwise. Overall this is superb, loved it from start to finish. Would like to try the Wynn but other than that I'll be back here, money permitting that is.
