  • Otro has always been one of my favorite places but tonight's visit was far from the usual Otro experience. The food was good....no great....the BLT & A torta with hard fried eggs on it is still my favorite sandwich in town. Minor complaints added up as the meal progressed....we were never served chips & salsa....my friend's Bloody Mary seemed to take a long time to get to the table....the music was very loud to almost being too loud to talk in a normal volume....the hostess seemed determined to stick us in a table next to the kitchen door and area where the wait staff get tea, silverware, etc and definitely seemed unhappy when I asked if we could sit by one of the open window booths. Our server was okay but my experience at Otro has always been where the servers seem happy to see you, are chatty without being too chatty, and just extremely positive. Our server was nice but that Otro "extra" wasn't there. All minor issues I know, but all were glaring in the face of the past wonderful experiences I've had at Otro. It has been one of my "go to" places to take visitors or just when I want a great overall experience because Otro seemed to have that something extra besides great food that kept me coming back and always recommending it to people. I hope my experience tonight was not the new norm for Otro. I hope that "extra" isn't gone. For food....5 out of 5 stars. For the rest of the experience... 2 out of 5 stars.
