  • I was recommended this salon by my mom. I walked in and I love all the natural light and the place feels huge and open. It has two stories and lots of stations. I also love that they use aveda products. However, red flag, no one else was there getting their hair done... Hmmmm...The front desk lady was very pleasant and greeted me with a smile. The stylists assistant took me back and started with a neck and shoulder massage. I got to pick which oils to use and they smelled wonderful. He was also very nice and pleasant. Then my stylist came out. She was pretty straight forward and got right to business. I showed her what I wanted and we talked back and forth. She then started ordering the assistant around to mix color, clean this, get that etc...Not saying thank you or please. I felt kind of bad for him. She made a little bit of small talk with me but for the most part didn't really talk w me. It took about 2 hours to apply my color which has never happened before. My hair is thicker but a medium length. During application she kept splattering color all over my smock and even got it on my hands. She also left a huge dark glob of color right on my forehead ha ha! I just felt maybe she was having a bad day because she seemed peeved. I have never seen her before so not sure if she is always like this. While my color was processing the assistant offered me a hand massage which was divine. Again he was very nice and made me feel comfortable. My color took about 2 hours to lift to blonde and process which again has NEVER happened to me. I already have light hair to begin with so to lift my color takes maybe 45 mins max. I have NEVER had to sit at a sink that long and have it process. I thought ok maybe she is new and not as fast... I don't know. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt. When the assistant shampooed me he did a wonderful head massage and neck massage. The stylist did my blow dry and cut. As she was blow drying I noticed that my blonde was not really as bright as I wanted it especially since I sat there for 2 hours for it to process. Whatever I just went with it and didn't say anything. She cut my hair which was fine, no complaints there. I spent total about 4.5-5 hours there getting this done. Again NEVER in my life have I been at a hair appt this long. When I went to check out up front I noticed a business card with the ladies name on it and she was a "master stylist and educator" as well as the salon owner!! I was floored because I have never had anyone botch my color so bad and be so unprofessional! A couple days after coming home I started noticing the top portion of my hair and high light were turning orange. So I tried the purple shampoo which is supposed to brighten your hair and it didn't work. Finally I decided I needed my hair fixed. I paid $240 for all this and it looked NOTHING like I wanted. I am usually pretty easy going with my hair but this was bad and I did NOT want to go back there. I called Habit salon and brittany that did my hair fixed everything and said that it looked like the lady used color and not bleach and did not follow any patterning or proper application for my blonde. She told me color is so much harder to lift with blonde hair and that bleach should be used to achieve the type of blonde I wanted. So all in all I would never go back to this place. She was rude to her assistants, color was horrible and I was there forever! Thanks to Habit salon for fixing my hair!
