  • Please do not go here for any reason. I am willing to go to bad venues for artists I love, however this one is NOT worth it. Upon entering, the security guard looked at me ID for a good minute and then almost did not let me in because he said it looked "fake" (I am 23, it was not fake.....) The railings that are set up to separate the bar from the rest of the crowd are extremely unsafe and at one point my foot got caught under one and slammed down because the crowd was lifting them off the ground. The floor is so sticky and the bass levels are way too high to enjoy the music. To top off my awful experience, a security guard grabbed me by my hair and put me in a chokehold and kicked me out of the venue because I had one hand on the railing and was headbanging. A different guard told me that if I didnt want my hair pulled again, I would get off the sidewalk. Monarch Theater is literally the WORST venue I have ever been too, please save your money and time.
