Not Safe!!!!! The parking lot is very dangerous to drive through. Many times you will see cars drag racing or speeding through. I observed from my balcony two cars that were drag racing and one of the cars lost control and crashed into a cement barrier. I reported this to the leasing office and they said there isn't anything they can do. If anybody would have been coming into the complex while this occurred, they would have been in a head on collision. I can't tell you the anxiety I have driving in and out of this apartment complex in hopes that I am not involved in a head on collision.
Another incident, on the fourth floor there was an empty beer bottle that was intentionally resting on a narrow railing and it was quite windy that day. This bottle could have easily been knocked off or blown over and fell onto someone on the lower levels.
It is obnoxiously loud all hours of the night and people walking by pounding on your door. Many times you will see someone coming off an elevator with a lit cigarette. The elevators, in the year I have lived here, have been out of service 5 times and took several days to be in service again. Another resident has been stuck in the elevator when it went out of service.
One of the coverings of light fixture in the elevator has been missing for over a year. It looks very trashy, is embarrassing when visitors come. Not something you would expect for the amount of rent that you pay.
The gate to the underground parking doesn't always work and is left open. There have been bikes that have been stolen from the underground parking area.
Recently they added a valet trash service and became an added monthly charge to an existing lease agreement. The trash service doesn't accept recycling unless you yourself purchase the blue bags to put those items in. Not only that, there are actually convenient trash shoots on every floor close to elevators and stairs for residence to use. The valet service is a monthly charge, in addition to other fees, that is not necessary and not used by the majority of residence, I asked the leasing office if I can given them the trash can they provided for this service since it is convenient enough to take out my own trash and they stated that I could return the trash can, but I will still have to pay the monthly fee of $30. I told them that this was not part of the lease agreement that I signed and I was told that they can make these types of changes and added fees to existing lease agreements.
When I first moved in, I spent 2 days cleaning the apartment. There was food left on the walls, cobwebs throughout the apartment, it smelled, there was mold in several places in the bathrooms and the carpet looked like it was years old. The patio was filthy.
There are much nicer areas to live in downtown Tempe that are cheaper, safer and overall nicer. I refer to this place as a %$#@ HOLE! I don't have visitors because it is embarrassing!!!!! This is not a place for responsible professionals. If you like to be around obnoxious college residents that are loud and party all night, then this is the place for you.
