  • Thanks to Yelp, I went to check out this new bakery at Marche Jean Talon - was even better than I expected!! Otherwise I would've just gone to Premiere Moisson like I usually do. But no, what a delicious surprise! Yeah, yeah, about time there's competition for Premiere Moisson and Pain Dore. Montreal loves their bread and their boulangeries, so I think this place really has a chance. No exaggeration, one of the best bakeries in Montreal. Every year when I come back to visit, there's more and more new bakeries popping up in Montreal. If you like Fromentier on Laurier Est, then I think you'll love this place. Similar but smaller, also with rotating daily breads which is great because once you fall in love with a specific bread you go out of your way to come back on that day. The bread is just plain delicious. Tried one of their small savory breads and one of the sweet viennoiseries. OMG. It tastes even better than it looks. This is the kind of bakery that makes you remember what great bread is, not just average good, but exceptional. There is so much good bread in Montreal that this one is going to make it tougher for all the other boulangeries. Raises the bar, and I hope the other guys try harder!
