| - Disappointed. Toyota and, it seems maybe, Big Two are getting a little stingy with their service. The story begins 4-5 months ago.
I came in for a routine oil change which includes Tire Rotation and a 7,500 mile synthetic oil change. The service is always great and this time was no different. About 3 days later, I noticed that my scheduled oil change was due again in 5,000 miles and not 7,500. I called and my representative and they assured me it was a 7,500 synthetic oil. They must have written the mileage incorrectly. Mistake, it happens.
Here's the kicker:
I scheduled an oil change for today through the website. It assured me there were no cost thanks to my Toyota Care, 2 year, 25,000 mile plan. Not realizing my car was at 26,300 and the 2 year sale of the car was April 15, my oil change and rotation is now $81. My speculation now is that a 5,000 mile synthetic oil was most likely placed in my car due to the anticipation of me scheduling my oil change prior to the 25,000 mile, 2 year Toyota Care plan lapsing.
A bit frustrated that a dealership built on trust and solid values would be so inclined to save on such a minimal cost of oil, and then fail to inform a life long customer of Toyota (First car purchase a 2007 ScionTc) that I would be best to come in before the recommended 7,500 miles so the April date and 25,000 deadline was met.
I completely understand that it is my responsibility to recognize when my service agreements are up. I also understand it is not the responsibility of Toyota to remind me of said Care Plan deadlines. The lack of understanding, and the mishandling of my vehicle is why I leave my review. I will strongly reconsider bringing my vehicle to any Toyota dealership, and I will not be returning to Big Two any longer for service.
