| - Ok, I'm pulling a bit of a fast one. My review is really for Incarta which is a delivery service. I tried it for the first time today. The store I chose was Smith's.
I really liked it. It won't replace in store shopping; but then again, I wouldn't want to replace in store shopping. I'm a former Olympic gold medal shopper. True, I bought the medal, but that just proves my point.
We like Smith's because the prices are cheaper; the point program lowers fuel costs; the digital coupons are great; and the coupons they mail us really reflect what we buy.
There's no option to use your Rewards card; but there are some nice deals on the Incarta site. Delivery is free, but you pay a 10% service fee. This trip, the fee was about $5. I saved more than that with the sales. I also had a $10 off coupon. They are fairly easy to find. I now have a code to share for those wanting to try the service. I always wanted to have a code.
You can choose to tip on the app after the service is completed. It's completely your decision. I did not feel pressured to tip. In fact, the site makes it clear that you've already paid a fee.
The shopper communicated with me throughout the shop. You can choose whether to allow substitutions, as well as the criteria for substitutions. We have some specific dietary needs, so I chose no substitutions. I must have been a dream client.
You pay ahead of the shop. They hold a little more, for wiggle room. You know exactly what's being charged. If an item is not available, the amount is refunded to your card immediately. I was continually updated via text from the designated shopper and the service. You receive a detailed receipt immediately. I imagine you can use that for any of those apps where you scan your receipt and get money reimbursed. I don't do that. Yes, it could demote me from gold to silver, but I'm terrible at taking pictures of anything, especially paper receipts that are long and want to fly. Electronic receipts would solve this problem. I can't be the only one. How hard can it be to invemt software that allows grocery stories to email your receipt? Other stores and services already do it. And, now, I've given away a million dollar idea. This is why I will never be rich. Well, this, and the shopping.
Delivery happened exactly as scheduled. He carried the items into the house, placed them where I wanted them, and offered to put them into the fridge. I needed to be involved somehow, so I chose to put away the groceries.
I was rather pleased. I feel young and hipstery, instead of older and having trouble with my hips. I think it's something we will use again
