Yelped this place up and decided to take the trek.
Big spacious store with all the promised rich yet delicate sweets offered on their website. The variety is staggering and made me linger dangerously long, even after I had already purchased my goods.
Foods I can vouche for:
-Mayan Hot Chocolate. Rich and chocolately (better with milk instead of water) but the spiciness was too much for me! It sneaks up on you, after you sip it and WHAMMO! Probably just right for winter months.
-LEMON SOURCREAM GELATO. By far the best, and this coming from a complete chocolate devotee. Must try.
-Chocolate-tumbled dried cherries. The chocolate is rather subtle and so it's more about the look of it than the taste of it. Still, quite yummy.
-Five or six of the truffles. I didn't think the aged balsamic vinegar was that good, it was more of a marvel that it could taste not bad. I don't think it's a must-try. ORANGE MARZIPAN was a great combo in texture and flavor. The wort whiskey one was a bit more bitter than I had expected..
But hey, try as many as strike your fancy. That's the best part about Soma, there's so much variety.
In the end I bought $20 worth of chocolate :) No regrets.
