| - Sambalatte is a relaxing cafe on the Strip, nicely tucked away in its own little shop that's secluded from the smokey casinos, 24h flashing lights, blaring rock music everywhere else. It's a great place to chill and catch up or, for the rare minority of Vegas tourists, get work done. (As the decor wisely conjectures, "Behind every successful person is a substantial amount of coffee.")
The ambiance is mildly bouge and mildly hipster--not full-on bouge like Jean-Philippe Pâtisserie and not full-on hipster with mason jars, but just right in adding a bit of flair to the typical cafe. It is on the pricey side for coffee, but well justified with its dedication to quality. Interestingly, the hot coffee costs more than the iced coffee while it's usually the opposite at most coffee shops. You are essentially paying for your latte art, which is quite pretty. (The most challenging part is carrying the mug back to your seat to take a picture, without spilling any of the foam filled to the brim.)
The menu has a wide selection to please all customers from elitist craft coffee lovers to the frappucino type with a sweet tooth. Their signature NUTELLA LATTE ($6.22/12oz) is like a mildly sweet mocha infused with Nutella. Unlike usual hazelnut lattes, it wasn't too syrupy and I would believe that they actually use Nutella. Even my friend who doesn't like chocolate enjoyed this! I've also tried the ICED LATTE ($5.14/12oz) which had good coffee flavor, though the cups are short and wide, making the drink look small. Their RAINBOW LATTE is popular as well, but I'm not particularly keen on gimmicky food coloring (though I do have a weakness for Instagrammable coffee).
Think outlets, wifi, tall ceilings, clean bathrooms, hipster displays of coffee beans and roasting equipment, and *ventilation* (!!) so you don't smell like coffee beans (or smoke, in the case of Vegas).
