  • Appalling! This practice employs inefficient liars and they move patients through the office like they are heading cattle! I am not impressed with Abbey Dental and you should NOT waste your time. I went in on a Wednesday because I broke a tooth. After standing around because they don't have enough chairs, and being called 30 minutes after my appointment time, shuffled through two different exam rooms with a 20 minute wait between seeing two different dentists, the second dentist said, "You need a root canal, but we can't do it today because we're too busy. You can come back on Friday." OK, it's getting to be late afternoon, there are other patients, I understand. Can I at least speak to someone about what the bill will be? "No, you'll go through that during your consultation on Friday." Wait, I thought THIS appointment was a consultation? "No, this is an exam, your consultation will be Friday with the dentist who will be performing your root canal." Why can't I talk to them now, while I'm here? "We're very busy today, you'll have to wait until Friday." Well, then why the hell am I talking to you, then, if you can't help me? Ugh. I went back on Friday, was called back 40 minutes after my appointment time, was led through two different exams rooms and seen by two different dentists than I saw the first time, one of whom said, "Actually, now that we took another few x-rays, the tooth can't be saved. You need an extraction and an implant, but the extractionist is on PTO. Come back Monday." Really, there's no one here who can pull a tooth? I can count on two hands how many dentists I have seen walking around this office, and no one else can handle pulling a tooth? Seriously? "Well, this fifth dentist is the extraction specialist. You want the best, right?" Alright, I'll get the thing pulled on Monday, fine. I want the very first appointment so I can get this taken care of right away. "No problem, we will get the tooth extracted and you'll be on your way in no time Monday morning." Finally! I went back Monday, thinking I'd get my tooth pulled, but come to find out, it was only a CONSULTATION for an extraction/implant, and they want me to come back AGAIN. Really?! This is friggin insane. Also, the "salesperson" or whoever they are that closes the deal, wanted to charge me $3300 for the implant, and said my insurance doesn't cover it. I told her that I needed to think about it, and to also consider if I want to ever come back to this office because of the horrific way my case has been handled. She didn't seem to care that I was considering not returning. My insurance actually covers 50% of an implant, which I called and confirmed immediately after I left. So, I walked out, after my third misleading visit, with a broken tooth still in my mouth, and then found out that I was lied to. I am not happy, and I will NOT be coming back.
