| - A group of my friends and I stayed at the Paris Hotel for Labor Day weekend and spent that Monday holiday morning gambling in the casino. Eventually, when we got hungry, we debated on where we should go to eat. Somewhere close by and somewhere with great reviews. Then I realized, I have had HEXX kitchen bookmarked for a while now and it is located inside of the hotel, so we decided why not!
We arrived around 11:30am and it was brunch time. There was a 25 minute wait, so we spent our waiting time drooling over all the desserts they had in the HEXX chocolate bar next door. Everything looked so good, especially the ice cream sandwiches!! (I ended up getting one and omg, amazing!)
Once we got seated, we were overwhelmed by the amount of items they had on their brunch menu. We STRUGGLED to decide. Ultimately, we ordered an array of delicious brunch specialties and it was awesome!
Chilaquiles (3.5/5)
I must say, these weren't bad. But they were not amazing. Plus, you will always get a dish of chilaquiles anywhere that will eventually become soggy. Not my thing really.
Corned beef hash (5/5)
Now, this dish was so freaking good! Probably the best corned beef hash I have ever had! Highly recommend!
Breakfast croissant (5/5)
The croissant was perfectly flaky and so buttery. Let me say that ALL croissant breakfast sandwiches should taste like this one! Nailed it for sure!
Meat omelet (5/5)
This is what I call an omelet. No complaints. BOMB.
Carrot cake pancakes (5/5)
Okay, okay. Now this right here had me craving pancakes for the rest of the week and I am not the pancake type. Waffles are my go-to, but oh my goodness, these were heaven!!
The four stars is because our service was not that great. We had to ask for water re-fills and it seemed like our food took a little longer than it should have. I don't know if it's because we didn't order alcohol, but the service was just alright. Part of the time I really wondered if we were forgotten about. But from my experience working in a restaurant, it seemed like they were transitioning and new servers were coming onto the floor because we really couldn't tell who our server was.
Anyway, I would still come back! The food was great and it would have been a great pair with their bottomless mimosas! Until next time!
