| - As someone obsessed with all things matcha, I had to try out Tsujiri's Toronto location. Situated amongst some other Japanese food places on Dundas, it can be quite easy to miss if biking by (as I was), as it is super tiny and rather unassuming. I went here specifically for the matcha softserve and thought the flavour and texture were perfect. Having tried matcha softserve at other places in Toronto and in South Korea, I enjoyed this version best, particularly because the matcha flavour really came through. I realize matcha can be found to be bitter, but I personally tend to enjoy it when it's a bit more concentrated and less subtle, which was the case at Tsujiri. What's also nice about this softserve is that it is not cloyingly sweet like so many North American desserts can be. I can't speak to the other treats on hand here, but I definitely recommend the softserve and at some point, I'll probably try some of the other desserts and lattes. The price point is fair for portion, quality, etc. Matcha ain't cheap to begin with, right?
