Ok so I have to start with the fact that I love German food and everywhere I travel I search out German Restaurants. With that said I have been to every kind from good to bad to great. This place lands somewhere in between good and great.
Atmosphere: it is really cute with old world charm. Think grandma's kitchen with plates and artwork on the wall. Kick knacks around. The dining chairs are comfortable. Sometimes restaurants have the uncomfortable kind so as to get you to leave sooner.
Also because it was mentioned prior it was cool and there seemed to be no ac problems.
Service: service was a 5 out of 5 attentive without being over bearing and friendly.
Drink: I ordered and orange blossom and it was like an elevated screwdriver. Also an ice tea and it was good not old or bitter.
Food: the thing everyone wants to know. I had the roulade with an extra side of German potato salad because I wanted to try it. Also It came with soup of the day a beef and barley. The soup was tasty and had a good broth.
The roulade was really nice as was the spetzel and cabbage. I can say that the food was a 5 out of 5. The cabbage has a nice depth of flavor. The potato salad is served warm with a minimal amount of dressing. The roulade is spot on not dried out at all. Nothing was over seasoned.
I also had to breakdown and have an apple dumpling. OMG I think I just got sent to pastry heaven.
